The number of CBD products reaching the market is increasing every day. As consumers, we have to keep in mind that the knowledge of the products will help us make the right choice while buying.  Without the answers to what, how and where regarding these products, it is not safe to use them. One such popular question that is voiced is –

What Is The Difference Between CBD Oil And Hemp Oil?

Although the hemp oil and CBD oil are derived from the same plant- hemp – they have different components and are extracted from different parts of the plant. The hemp oil, which is also known as hemp seed oil, is extracted from the seeds of the plant whereas CBD oil is extracted from other parts of the plant including stems, leaves, stalks, and flowers- which are rich in CBD, a Phyto cannabinoid present in cannabis plants.

The pure CBD oil, therefore, has a good amount of CBD. It is made by infusing the extracted CBD into oil-like vegetable glycerin, MCT (medium-chain triglycerides), or other similar oil which will act as a base.

Hemp oil, like other common oils (olive oil, canola oil, etc.), has essential fatty acids including omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, and no noticeable amount of cannabinoids.

Cannabis Oil, Hemp Oil, and CBD Oil

The main difference between cannabis oil and hemp oil is that the former contains THC, unlike, the latter. In fact, hemp oil is derived from industrial hemp plants. Cannabis oil is extracted from plants that belong to the same species but that have a significant amount of THC, making it psychotic. CBD oil, as said before, contains CBD.

CBD and THC are both cannabinoids, which have completely different effects in the body. CBD is nonpsychotic and has therapeutic properties, due to which it is popular and used in the medical industry. On the other hand, THC is psychotic and will get you high. THC and CBD are very similar in chemical composition.

Does CBD Oil Have THC?

Typically, the best CBD oil does not have THC if it is derived from the industrial hemp plant. But if the source of the oil is marijuana or other similar plants that have THC, the oil will have THC. CBD oil is not supposed to have THC legally. CBD oil, since it is extracted from the hemp plant, will not usually have more than 0.3% THC.
